Connect and get support from other bright, creative people with ADHD

ADDepters are an amazing bunch-  smart, creative, loving and whole-hearted.  These are all people like yourself: people living, working, parenting, and loving- all with this big beautiful ADHD brain.  These are your people and I want to introduce you to them.  You all have so much to gain from each other.

Seek support, validation and encouragement

Trying to live your complete life from the confines of your house means that you don’t have access to the little (or big) pieces of feedback that you usually do throughout your day: the kind smile from the barista when you grab your coffee in the morning, the hug from your mother when you stop by to check in, the cheerful chat with your neighbor as you head in for the day.  Overtime, this disconnection can make us all feel starved of the ties that make us feel seen and heard and understood.  This space to get that back- check in, let us know how you are doing, what you are doing and what you are thinking about.  Knowing and seeing other people working to live the best life right they can right now helps us all feel less alone.

Create Accountability

I talk all the time about the importance of accountability- it keeps the ADHD brain ticking- without it we will all might as well just start binge watching Netflix until Christmas.  Social distancing and quarantine makes the normal forms of accountability extremely difficult to maintain.  So use this group.  Post your intentions for the day/ the week/ the pandemic.  Hear the encouragement and check back in to let us know how it went (and don’t be surprised if we check in with you too!).

Share strategies

I know a lot of you are having to rework many of the basic routines, strategies and processes that you all worked so hard to build.  Use this space to ask for tips or ideas for places where you are struggling or to offer ideas for things that you have recently figured out.  ADDepter’s are a creative and clever group- using their ADHD brain to dream up solutions that neurotypical brains might never even consider.  See what is working for others and share what is working for you these days.

Share Your Wins

Did you actually get 3 hours of work done today?  Did you survive the first 2 weeks of homeschooling without killing your kids?  Did you figure out how to switch one of your essential business offerings virtual?  Did you get up and dressed and to your computer before 11 today? Or did you get dressed in something other than yoga pants for the first time since this all started? We want to hear about it!  No win is too big or too small to be celebrated.  Not only do you deserve kudos for your hard work but the rest of the community will be inspired, encouraged and motivated by them- so go ahead- humble (or even not so humble) brag!
